Narration The party gathered for the request that our noble blacksmith made a few days ago was now making their way to the west gates, in a road barely used by the townsfolk that lead the way to the old mining town. Before the party had the chance to cross the gates out of the city the same guard that talked to them before appears again to give them some extra information. Whether or not they use it in their favor would be up to them. The look in his face shows his emotions towards this mission but you can notice he just wants to help. He handles the party what seems to be a bestiary of the old mines from the time he and his friend explored it. The book seems to have some missing pages but the information about where the ore they are looking for and the enemies that inhabit the place is pretty much there. As they open the book they notice that the mine has several levels connected with tunnels, like a labyrinth that goes up and down. Within the levels the ore that they need is located in the second level, if they analyze the page they might also notice that there is no information past the 4th level neither information about the monsters that inhabit the 3rd level. The guard tells you that the people that have lived to fill in the bestiary have only reached as far as the 4th level but had no hostile encounters, however most of them avoids the 3rd level because nobody that have dared to explore it have ever returned from it. The guard also tells you of the threats that they fought in the 1st and 2nd level. In the 1st floor, you will find several Gnolls grouped in packs of 4 and 5. These creatures fight with no brain and are easy to handle but fighting more than 2 packs at the same time could prove to be really dangerous so don't take them too lightly. Pass that level there is the 2nd level in where Monstrous spiders inhabit. These spiders have made a living out of curious Gnolls that adventure too far off their packs. Unlike the Gnolls, these spiders are smarter and they all fight together. They're usually found in groups of 3 and their bite is said to be lethal, injecting a powerful venom that can paralyze you almost instantly. Before the guard lets you off on your adventure, he points out some extra notes in the book regarding the beasts he mentioned before. These notes show some of the weaknesses that these monsters have which could give you the upper hand in battle. When you fight Gnolls make sure to aim for the leader of the pack, once this one dies the others would retreat instantly in fear. The leader usually carries a staff with them or they're simply bigger than the rest. Spiders however are trickier to deal with, they're almost blind so light spells or magic that emanates a lot of light would make them retreat temporary. They also seem to focus their attacks on wounded targets even if they're spiders as well, use this information on your favor and focus your fire on one, it might make the other ones go for that one and leave you alone for a while. The guard wishes you good luck as he watch you leave. Mid-way, your team decides to take a look at the bestiary again only to find something curious about a half-torn page. The small information you can gather from it says: "3rd Floor ...... ........... ..... ...... S... ........ avoid at all cost, 4th Floor is a sanctuary. .......... .......... ............................ Safe. I have no idea what that is but my team vanished before my eyes. ...... .......... lurks every floor, monsters fear it." The rest of the writings are either damaged or unreadable. Whoever was writing this apparently was not alone but never made it out either. This bestiary was found in a bag in the 4th level which means that said level seems to be safe unlike the others. Leaving the information behind, the party arrives the point near the outskirts of the old mining town. In here they will decide which path to take to start their adventure.

Previously a really long while back When approaching the quest billboard, Annariel noticed after a long while that barely no one touched. On closer inspection she noticed that the reward was good and the dangers plenty. HOWEVER, to someone like Annariel of the Manthwe'ven this was an opportunity to make a name for herself and she would not shy away from danger. Besides if she helped the blacksmith then perhaps she would be able to unlock the secrets of her magical shield. It was a perfect opportunity. So gallantly as it was proper, Annariel boldly signed up first. Previously The day to venture out had finally come. Annariel couldn't be more pumped and ready, at least until she saw her companions. The tall silver haired elf gave her companions a long glare. First of course was a Dark Elf, she was surprised to see one of them out and about in the open. It was also the first one she'd seen in her life and what her mother had told her made Annariel glare. Of course the glaring wasn't exclusive to her darker counterpart but to the two felines. Annariel wasn't fond of them, well pretty much she wasn't fond of anything that wasn't her own kind. Annariel had expected a human or two, but this party composition worried her. Particularly the tiny cat girl runt. Shifting her expression to her usual smirk she just smiled to them and when the guard gave them the information and direction. Annariel merely took the logs and passed them to one of her companions. She had to mentally prepared to interact and trust her back to them... It was so that Annariel remained quietly aloof for the vast majority of the trek to the mines. Presently With her armored gauntlet Annariel rubbed her chin. They were getting close to the mines and a critical moment was also approaching. The time to speak was now! Annariel adjusted her backpack, from where her crested shield also hanged and turned around to face her companions. She had of course remained quiet all the way but also purposely walked in front of everyone. Since she towered over most of them, even most elves and with her armored dressed Annariel was a sight to behold. Boldly she smiled and spoke. "Here we are, but before we venture forth. I believe a proper introduction is in order." Not missing a beat or apologizing for being quiet for the longest of times, Annariel continued like nothing. "Annariel Aemys, Manthwe'ven of Illarien Drannor, I shall guard you all with my life." She briefly lingered her sight on the dark elven lady but quickly shifted her attention elsewhere. "If things move smoothly, I will take care of carrying the ores back as well." Anna gestured to her backpack by adjusting the straps with her right hand while still smiling boldly, while her left one moved to rest on the pommel of her curved elven blade. "We have also reached a conundrum, I hear there are two ways to access the mines. By going around the mountain path or by cutting through the abandoned mining town." She pointed with her right hand at both the directions. The mountain path was the longer option but while it was restrictive and it had several spots where they would be completely exposed but the chances of running into something or someone were slim. The path through the town was shorter but consequently their passing might disturbed any monstrous residents, it was also full of ambush spots. "I would have us vote on the best path to take, and I nominate cutting through the village. If we have to quickly escape the mine, having the village path cleared sounds wiser to me." Annariel gave her opinion upfront, of course she was also aware that there was no guarantee that even if they had a clear entry through the village that it would remain open for as long as they were under the earth. "Regardless let us do this calmly and perfectly!" Annariel pumped her armored fist into the air, moral was important. Well her moral that is.

After emptying her purse considerably for a room, Aislin leaped at the opportunity for a such a profitable job offer . . . thought she wasn't exactly used to the idea of a quest or having a party to adventure with. She imagined she would end up with a bunch of sophomoric morons who had fun fighting things, but found herself pleasantly surprised on the day of the quest.
At the very least her companions seemed elegant, particularly the elf who seemed rather lovely, if not a little stand-offish and arrogant. Being sneered at wasn't an entirely uncommon phenomenon, so she could really only take it in stride. Even humming a little. She elected to hum a little, taking the time while the high elf took charge to watch her walk. She certainly seemed to have nice legs.
The two other two were at the very least cute. Both of them were rather cat-like, an aesthetic Aislin couldn't really object to. Especially the cute little ears.
Eventually they stopped and the rather austere seeming High Elf broke the silence that had followed most of the journey and turned out to be rather boisterous and heroic. She seemed to fancy herself a leader. If she could lead, then she might as well, there was no faulting that, but Aislin was curious to see how much was hero and how much was just bluster. Regardless, the elf would turn out to be a nice little amusement for the duration of the question. Maybe Aislin could even ply her way with her depending on exactly how icy she decided to be.
Aislin walked up to the high-elf the start of the introduction, keeping her eyes locked on Annariel, and a playful smirk on her face. "Ah~ Pleased to meet you, Annariel. My name isn't nearly as old or verbose, so I must apologize. You may call me Aislin Blackwood. I suppose if you want to give me a title, call me a Wandering Witch." she replied to her companion. "So chivalrous of you to offer to do the heavy lifting. Maybe you should show off your strength and carry me the rest of the way."
After that, Annariel, as Aislin now new her to be called went into a tract about planning and an approach to the abandoned mine. Before Aislin could reply, the high elf decided to try and boost morale with a phrase that elicited a giggle from its cheesiness. "Yes, let's certainly do it well at the very least. Though if I do it perfectly, I may expect an extra reward from you~" Aislin gave Annariel a small smile with the reply. "Something equally perfect would be nice."
"Hm~ Unless there's any advantage to the mountain path or a disadvantage to the abandoned town, I'd tend to agree. At the very least we can maybe scrounge around for a supplies. I hope you don't mean it's literally a Ghost Town, though that could be interesting in its own right. Ghosts can be interesting to talk to. It may also afford us a chance to stop and plan more thoroughly." Aislin commented. "On the other hand, the Mountain Pass could afford less trouble in the long run if the Town needs clearing out, as you suggest. Personally, I'm merely in favor of the path with the least resistance that provides us the most advantage. I think I'll give my vote to the most convincing argument should an objection to the town arise~"
Well, she hoped Annariel wasn't the boorish type who wouldn't leave anything open for discussion.

Post by Mairwen Griffith on Oct 14, 2016 2:54:57 GMT -4
A quest… well, that was what a hero was all about, right? Previously, Mairwen had usually ended up just playing the part of bard despite his talent with a bow and experience in the wilderness between settlements – not quite living up to the legend he was meant to be following (well, the one he thought he was meant to be following), but he hadn’t really been… confident enough to handle something like this. It was always a bit messy, and he always heard such awful things about adventurers, and he never quite thought he was a good enough, and… but, anyway, anyway! He didn’t want to just be a singer this time! He was supposed to carry on a hero’s name; heroine or otherwise! That’s why he was here! And yet, he was still struggling to convince himself… ever since he’d met the party, well… Uwaa… they were all girls… Faltering behind the group as they talked to the guardsman, Mairwen lurked a few steps back from the others the whole while – he just couldn’t handle it. They might talk to him! They might mock him! They might hurt him! He didn’t want them all to leer at him, he didn’t want them all to twist his heart about, he didn’t want to have his dream torn up! Ah… it wasn’t like he disliked women, or held a grudge, or anything like that; but since that witch moulded his soul… now, he trembled in his boots as soon as he could feel their eyes on him… maybe he ought to be thankful for her feminine looks! At least this way they didn’t hassle him like they might other guys. But, what did they talk about, anyway? He heard that sort of sentiment a lot, but he really didn’t get it… At least the quest sounded fine so far! A hero’s duty… helping people in need. As the conversation was steered away from him, the feline trotted forward gently to peer between his compatriots – intel was important, any ranger would know that. Gnolls he’d dealt with before… he’d just had to avoid them, but he’d seen more than just pictures at least. Spiders, though… that wasn’t something he wanted to face up against, ever. Though, did they taste any good? It’d certainly be more interesting than game meat… eh, why was he thinking about this sort of thing right now…? But, he wasn’t given much more time to think before their journey began – the path was relatively familiar ground, so Mairwen took the chance to excuse himself in order to scout ahead; though his honest intentions was just to get away from the group. It wasn’t really a healthy attitude, but… the trees were better company to him… ///////
Quietly regrouping with the others as they stopped to figure out their tactics, Mairwen dared to linger a bit closer in order to get involved – just in time for the grandiose elf’s introduction, which left him backpedalling a step or two out of trouble… no, not trouble; just stress. From here, he could at least run… still, she seemed to be taking everything seriously, which was very nice. Seeing a shield was especially comforting… he’d had bad experiences with elves before, but this Annariel… err, which name did he use? Probably Aemys… well, Miss Aemys Manthredevans sounded quite down to earth. Unsurprisingly, though, Mairwen could only conjure a hasty nod in reply for her speech. S-Still, honestly, he felt a tiny bit inspired! But… that didn’t last long. "I suppose if you want to give me a title, call me a Wandering Witch.”Even a casual observer could probably notice Mairwen’s face and heart sink with that remark in the air – this was bad, this was bad, this was awful! He’d be in serious trouble all over again… he’d never make it like the hero did! Even his mom was too good for him! He’d completely fail his village, his family – no, most importantly, his foster family! With his soul like this, he was just a freak – a freak, she said! A joke! It wasn’t enough, he wasn’t enough, it’s not enough! Though he steadied himself, Mairwen could feel his head become lighter and lighter… Staggering for a moment, the feline hastily regained his composure; praying that he hadn’t drawn too much attention with his personal drama. He couldn’t let that sort of thing get to him, not while on a job! If there was a witch causing trouble again, then… then… then, he’d just kill her, right?! Just like another boar… that’s right! Eyes furrowing, Mairwen steeled his heart… yes, this was how it was. The lady even sounded and looked the part… if it came to that, he really would…! Coughing awkwardly as he realised he’d completely missed the rest of Aislin’s musings, Mairwen figured he ought to say something. Something relevant! Introduction! A-And, vote! That’s right! ”J-Just call me ‘M’, please!” squeaked the boy while his ears and tail stood up on end, sounding and looking far more shaken than he at all hoped to; a fact far from helped by his cursed (well, supposedly blessed…) voice. ”Ah, j-just ‘M’. It’s for Mairwen, but… ‘M’ is easier. Easier to hear. I’m a ranger, but I know a lot of other things, too… just let my bow talk for me, okay? O-Oh, but the paths… I think the town would be better. Even if we don’t make it through there at first, it’ll be easier to get back and recover, and if we do a good job, it might help people later…”…was it weird for a ranger to support the path away from nature? Was that weird? Would they think something was odd? Did they already distrust him? Was he already an embarrassment? T-They were looking at him, too…! Already, Mairwen was rattled by doubt thanks to his company… deciding to just get out of sight, the boy darted back a bit – he was a ranger, so being on-guard was natural, right? Glancing to the final member of his group, he at least calmed a little bit… a fellow feline, and one who seemed fairly humble compared to these two, as well. At least he’d surely be able to count on her support… err, though, wasn’t she sort of young…? But, the same could be said about him, so… best not to complain. Left to his own devices, the boy would just begin to gently whistle to calm himself down, despite the conversation that was still on-going. Hopefully none of his comrades minded any music… he didn’t really want to have to sing, but… if things really were rough, then at least maybe they wouldn’t mock him for it if it ended up saving their lives here. Err, though, they might already be a bit suspicious of the little lute tied around his waist. Aaah, there was just no right or wrong answer here, was there? At least things couldn’t really get worse – he’d rather be fighting for his life compared to dancing about the venom of witches. With his tail twitching back and forth and ears on alert, it was rather clear that the little hero wasn’t really at ease… though, perhaps that was considered a given if they were going into hostile territory.

Post by Kouko Sawamura on Oct 14, 2016 5:06:27 GMT -4
"This is bad..." A few days after arriving to the town and getting her room rent done with, Kouko was encountering another problem. It was until one day that she was out to buy some milk that she noticed she was running out of money and that was not good, any more and she would end up in the streets and more importantly, without her milk. Walking down the street she decided to take a look at the billboard, any easy quest would do with her money problems and for her standards it had to be an easy quest that paid well.
"...!" Luckily for her, such a quest was available and there was one spot left. It had to be hers. She didn't even care to read the details and all she could really gather from it was "Bring something back, 120 coins". With such a high reward she would have more than enough for her rent and all the milk she could buy. It was perfect.
They day of the mission arrived and she was mentally prepared for meeting with her other fellow mercenaries. She didn't really care about how they looked like nor getting involved with them, they had a simple job to do and she would just stick to that. Surprisingly enough for her they were all girls and pretty ones as well, Kouko couldn't help it but feel a bit jealous of their beauty as she brushed her own hair while looking away for a bit. After the whole party received instructions they were briefly stopped by a guard who gave them extra information, Kouko behind the two tall girls and a bit ahead of the cat girl got to hear a bit of it but not all. She was mostly nodding the whole time but she was hardly paying attention, if they encountered problems she would solve it with her sword, other than that she didn't really care about it.
The guard didn't really take much time from them and the team started to get in their way to the mines. This time Kouko was behind, the cat girl decided to scout ahead on her own and the other two girls seemed busy with themselves. A situation like that was rather convenient for her, she could just move in silence and focus on her mission after all but even after a while silence gets boring. Without noticing Kouko was slowly staying behind from the group, she was not really rushing to get to the place fast and she was also having a drink from her bottle of milk which she was hoping nobody would bother her for a sip. She would take small sips while looking around her just in case that nobody was watching her, this was not only Kouko being shy but also selfish on sharing her favorite drink.
When the group finally arrived to a stop or what seemed to be a stop, Kouko was still walking. She was almost done with her milk and she was mostly timing the moment that she arrived to finish her drink at the same time. Luckily for her she didn't seem to have missed much at least, she thought they must have spent quite the time exchanging ideas about what to do that they left introductions for last. She lifted her head a bit to stare at one of the tall girls, her name was complicated to remember so she would be calling her 'Anna' for short. The other one who seemed to have interest in Anna had an easier name so just calling her Aislin would do. The last one, aside from being mysterious and interesting had a weird name. She did request to be called 'M' so M would do just fine. All the introductions were done with and it was only Kouko's missing.
"..." The silence in the air got interrupted by Kouko's emotionless expression on her face and the sounds she was making after finally finishing her drink. She then saved the empty bottle and bowed down politely to her team before introducing herself with a soft voice "I am Kouko Sawamura" she then returned to her normal posture and offered herself for a quick scouting job of the town ahead.
"I want to vote for both ways but before I give a proper vote wait for me here" Her blue eyes were glowing and the look in her face changed to a more serious one. Kouko then moved a few steps ahead of her team before getting on all fours, her tail and ears stopped moving and the glow in her eyes intensified, she then murmured "Spirit Hunter" to herself to activate her skill and looked at her team from her shoulder "I'll be back in 15 minutes. I'll scout ahead for threats in the town". Then, without waiting for their reply she vanished before their eyes heading to the town. At her speed it would be almost impossible for slow enemies to detect her unless a well set trap stopped her movement. Although her skill has no scouting purposes, the conditions before she can reactivate them would be worthy whether she finds threats or not at all ahead of her.

With her introductions at least part of the ice that had formed among them was shattered. Granted she probably started it, but if they couldn't break the silence on their own it was their fault not hers. Or at least that was the logic behind the lack of remorse from Annariel.
Of course the Dark Elf spoke first. She was a witch and it almost confirmed the rumors she had heard of her kin to be true. At the very least, Aislin looked to be frivolous and irresponsibly free spirited. Though because Annariel had mentally prepared herself by now, she casually brushed off the attempt at teasing? flirting? overly friendliness from her part? That remained to be seen.
Still it was only proper to reply to requests made of her. "I won't carry you because if I did, then I'd have failed in my duty of protecting you." Annariel smiled sweetly, while speaking in her gallant tone. It was true what she meant, she'd carry all three of her companions out of the mines if push came to shove. Not because Annariel was a truly generous person but because her pride demanded that no failure be tolerated. If the no one was reliable, it came to her to be dependable. That was the sort of person Annariel was. "Well I'm sure we can arrange something then." She replied, Annariel wasn't dense and while at the moment she wasn't interested, she knew the best way of dealing with Aislin kind was not to get stuck in the small details.
Annariel then turned her attention to M the feline. Sitting at over two hundred years to Annariel both her cat like companions looked like babies. It wouldn't be a stretch of the word to say that those two she'd have to keep a closer eye on. "M" looked like the one that would need the most attention in the group though. Briefly a question crossed Anna's mind, "Mairwen is a girl's name right?". Normally considering herself a good judge of character, Annariel couldn't really figure out the genter of Mairwen at the moment.
"That's assuring M, if your aim is true then be sure to watch my back if we run into trouble." Annariel patted her chest and laughed. Upon weighing the opinions of the Aislin and M provided, Annariel was more convinced that the town would be the proper path to take. "If anything the village gives us space to set up a safe spot to rest or hide in case of an emergency." She said while nodding.
Then her third companion spoke, the smaller of the three runts she was working with. Annariel's mouth opened in surprise as she watched the tiny cat girl run headlong into the village to scout. "Uuuugh why are these younglings so impatient!" Annariel complained inside her head while saying. "Wait! We should hav- and she's not listening." Annariel sighed deeply, she slided her shield off her backpack and adjusted the straps so she could comfortably wield it.
"Right then! change of plans." Annariel turned her red eyes towards Mairwen. "Hurry after the girl and find a discreet vantage point, from where you can cover her with your bow and signal us in case she runs into trouble." Then shifted her attention to her darkened skinned kin "We'll follow the child slowly and look for a place to hunker down, while we wait." Annariel didn't draw her elf sabre yet but began to move after the quickly dissapearing blur of the tiny cat girl. "Let's move!"
The road to the abandoned mining village had several good hiding spots, with fallen boulders and old landslides that created good places to wait out. If one looked hard enough then finding a vantage spot or some cover from where to keep watch of the village, one was bound to find one or two places.
At the very least Annariel hoped that her precautions were for nothing, but she'd been in battles for the better part of a century and if there is one thing she had learned during her travels was to expect the unexpected and that fools were both blessed with luck but when they lost the coin toss, things ended horribly for them. Annariel wasn't about to lose one of her fools today. She was a Manthwe'ven! A junior member sure, but Annariel took her vows very seriously and she'd do her best not to put her companions in any dangerous situations.

Rebuffed but not disheartened by her current prey's replies to the attempted flirts, Aislin decided to root herself more firmly and keep trying. Annariel's subtle haughtiness only felt like a new toy to play with and maybe eventually break, and even then perhaps interesting as a reinvented toy once broken. She could only imagine what it would look like to make such a proud individually willingly bend~ Of course, it might take some effort and she'd have to hope that pay off would be worth the award.
"Hm. That's fair enough, your arms do seem nice and strong so I suppose that's demonstration enough." Aislin stated. "I certainly hope you mean that about discussion though. It'd be disappointing to know that you'd break an agreement just because I'm a rotten old Dark Elf." A cheerful, though certainly slightly mocking smile accompanied the words.
This 'M' also seemed like she could be amusing, certainly a little timid, and maybe a little horrified by Aislin. Aaaah~ The way people assumed she was some malicious tormentor always amused Aislin to no end. Especially poor dears like 'M' who probably thought she went around eating babies rather than just teasing and prodding. She might torment, but she certainly wasn't malicious~
Just as soon as the other girl, Kouko, introduced herself she seemed to be gone in a flash to scout.
"My, my, my~ excitable that one, isn't she?" Aislin giggled as Annariel tried to regroup things in response to the disappearing cat . . . though maybe she looked more like a fox now that Aislin thought about it. She couldn't be sure.
"And here I was hoping for more discussion of our capabilities so we could at least discuss tactics. Well, I suppose a demonstration is as good as anything." Aislin mocked an exasperated sigh, not honestly finding much wrong with a situation. Surely her companions could handle themselves well enough to deal with such a situation with some fluidity and grace.
At the very least she expected it of Annariel if she liked to think of herself as such a paragon.
Before she set of on Annariel's plan she turned to 'M' to say, "Emmy-dear, do be sure with your aim in the heat of battle. I don't look particularly fetching in red. Accident's happen after all~" She gave a 'M' a small somewhat coy smile. The cat-girl was a little cute, but not nearly as fetching as she found Anna. Her skittishness was certainly cute.
Book at the ready, Annariel snuck up alongside Anna, following alongside her, ready to stun anything that needed stunning so a good blow could be gotten in. Hopefully, that saber Dear Anny had wasn't just for show and could actually cut something. It would be a bit disappointing to know all the exuberance was just for show, especially if it turned out she snapped rather easily.

Although he was certainly still very uneasy, Mairwen was greatly calmed by Anna’s reassurance – even Aislin’s obnoxious nickname only earned a brief frown from the boy. Her fussing was just annoying… err, but the smile made him feel a bit… ill? That was probably the term, but his face felt hot despite it… this sort of fever tended to pass quickly, at least, so he shouldn’t worry in any case. But, geez, tutting about his aim like that… it sounded like she wanted to get shot! Ranger or not, no archer would indulge in friendly fire, so what was the point of that kind of warning? Aah, he was all grumpy now!
He wasn’t able to be distracted by his own internal grumbling for long, though: the girl he’d been about just jumped onto all-fours and then charged off; leaving the poor feline comically baffled by the sight – his inexperience with odder adventurers was obvious, to say the least; but to his credit he hastily conjured his composure once more. Or, well, enough that he wasn’t utterly disheartening to watch. D-Damn it, he wasn’t usually this nervous! It was just all these… g-girls, honestly! And that witch… ”O-Okay, I’ll do it! Stay safe! If things get bad, just run away, okay?” With a hasty little half-salute half-wave, the boy charged off as ordered; coat fluttering in the wind behind him as he bounded ahead.
Despite heading into what was likely trouble, the boy felt a lot calmer now that he was on the job at last – he’d worked alone like this that much that he found this sort of trouble easier to deal with that… anything involving other people. Or at least, anything involving people of the other gender. He didn’t really think a hero was supposed to be that awkward, but… aah, no time to worry about that now! Quest time! And, there was a feline in need, too! While he kept pace behind the swordsman, it was immediately obvious that he was a much different soul to her; keeping up with flowing bounds and flourishes towards the town rather than just that usual nimble pace expected of a ranger… he could already hear the music in his head…
Thankfully, though he was more used to the wilds, a town of all places was anything but lacking in elevation and cover. Spying across the skyline of the settlement, Mairwen let Kouko slip ahead for a moment while he hastily scaled an appropriate wall; glad that the aging town offered all kinds of footholds amongst its weeping buildings. Trouble in a town was relatively new for him, but he found the rooftops comfortable enough to sprint across; so long as he kept an eye out for any weakened wood… ah, and Kouko was in his sights again! Ah, but, now they were a good block or two in, weren’t they? Maybe he should have been paying more attention…
Easing himself onto a building’s corner and lowering his profile, Mairwen unsheathed his bow and prepared an arrow – he should be wary from here on, especially with his team splintered like this. Hopefully the other two managed to keep up in the meantime… he doubted they were really keen on clambering over rooftops, but he did try to keep in plain sight up until now, so they ought to be okay, right? Already this quest was looking messy…

Five minutes passed from the moment Kouko got on all fours until she arrived to the town. As she thought, the place was in ruins but it didn't seem to be desolated at all. Kouko covered herself with one of the town walls before taking her Soul Blade out, she didn't reallly need to get into the town to determine the amount of enemies that were there but had to be somewhat close to them if she were to target them all.
"tch..." She couldn't help but let a small disgust expression out of her emotionless face. It was a bad start but she had no other choice. Kouko took a deep breath but before she could move again, something far away from the way she came from was approaching. It was the figure of one of her team members that were chasing after her apparently.
"Why do they come when I told them to wait?... Or is it that they ignore the meaning of scouting?... Well whatever, the quicker I get this done with the safer we'll all be I guess" Thought Kouko while shifting her look back to the town entrance. She was quite fast and agile in her cat form so going at full speed with some parkour would make it all even better. She then nodded at her approaching ally and rushed inside, her eyes allowing her to spot weak points in her enemies would actually help her determine if there were enemies nearby or not and avoid them. No matter how fast she is right now, getting into a fight by herself would be really dangerous for her.
A few more minutes passed from the moment Kouko rushed inside the town, she would often look behind at her ally from one of the rooftops only to confirm that her identity was 'M', she immediately thought about the current situation while scanning the area "So we are working in teams of two?... Well that doesn't matter". She couldn't really care, things were also going well in her end with no enemies so far until...
"...!!!" Kouko suddenly stopped hiding herself behind a two floors house with her back against one of the walls on the 2nd floor. She was doing her best to keep her calm and hoped that 'M' had a good eyesight for her signs with her hand. She pointed towards the house she was hiding indicating that there were enemies inside, the house was located near the center of the town so it would probably be easy to avoid later. As a 'scout' she had to be either hiding or on the move and the spot she was 'hiding' in was not the best one to be, she quickly jumped off and got on her way deeper into the town while trying to use the roofs so her comrade could keep watch of her.
A few blocks later and almost near the end of the town, connecting to the short path that lead the way to the mining cave she found another group of enemies, this one bigger than the last one but it seemed to be the only ones in the whole area. With this information Kouko hurried up back to her teammate who would probably be eager to listen to her report.
The time was almost getting up to her neck but she couldn't really help it, she said 15 minutes thinking she wouldn't have the need to explore in but given the new circumstances she had to change her plans. On her way back she decided to use the streets while avoiding the places she knew the enemy was. By this, 'M' wouldn't be able to spot her but any capable member should already be expecting her at this moment. After a few minutes, Kouko made her appearance from behind her ally. She just casually yawned and saved her blade to stretch a little bit, running around that much and constantly can even tire her up.
"M? We can go back now and think of a way to fight our way into the caves" It was her first time looking at the cat-girl that close and using such a weapon, she was somehow surprised. "I gathered information about our enemies and I would like to share it with our elf allies" She then turned around and opened up fresh bottle of milk that she was carrying around with her and proceeded to drink from it slowly, she was also ignoring if her ally wanted some, nobody ever ask her in the first place.
"Let's go, M"

Annariel kept to the side of the road. Eventually she decided that the best place they could wait by was a fallen boulder that towered even over her. It was close to the village proper and to keep a watch over any signal Mairwen could give if the Kouko ran into trouble. Anna did glance at Aislin once and saw that she had some sort of spellbook out, she was ready for trouble. That was good, as expected of an Elf. Though, Annariel felt that Aisling was sticking a bit too close to her.
Annariel suppressed any uncomfort and compulsion to sigh, focusing instead on keeping a vigil.
"Never met a Dark Elf before, how did you end up here Aislin?" Annariel decided to have an idle conversation while they waited.
After some time, Annariel saw that Kouko and Mairwen began to leave the abandoned village and moved towards them. "Well, looks like a worried over nothing. Good." Annariel said out loud, there was no sign of bitterness or anything. It was just that by nature the Manthwe'ven was cautious and she took seriously her duty of protecting her comrades
Once Kouko and Mairwen were close enough, Annariel emerged from behind the boulder. Still with her shield held in one hand, though her sabre remained sheathed. Before Kouko could speak or report anything, Annariel decided to say her piece. Though before speaking she did give M one nod of acknowledgement translating to something like good job.
"Good job, but don't do it ever again." She said flat out. "We are a party and talking things through is a must. Don't wander off on your own again without consulting us, specially once we get inside the mines." Annariel placed her free hand on her hip and not because she meant it but due to their size difference obviously looked down on Kouko. Anna's red eyes lingering on the cat girl.
"I'm glad your safe but again consult us first, don't act and ignore us." Annariel said sternly.
"With that said AND out of the way, what did you learn?" Annariel shifted her attention to the abandoned village. "Is it safe, are there enemies? could we sneak through?" Annariel remained silent and waiting for Kouko's report.
