Perhaps it seemed bizarre for someone who held such high regard for the creature comforts of the indoors, but Natasha had to admit her fondness for forests – it was probably a witch thing. No, it was probably a spider thing… though, the aptly named ‘Great Forest’ wasn’t quite as ideal for her tastes as it could be. Damp and misty woods were more her type than this sort of sparser situation; though in the land’s defence she was merely on the outskirts to begin with. But, she couldn’t complain too much… out of the eyes of the distrustful public, she could finally enjoy the comforts that came with her curse; relishing the familiar sensation of her ever supportive spider gently skittering along her arms. And so, finally, she could open her eyes. She would never get used to seeing colours, shapes, and sizes; but she could at least understand what other people meant now. It wasn’t quite the same as seeing through her own eyes, but… in a lot of ways, she liked this better. It was another sense, but one humbled by distance; inequivalent to her touch, smell, hearing, and most definitely taste; but yet the one that put her most in awe of the world. Not from the sights, but simply from the fact it existed… ah, she shouldn’t fuss over all this philosophy nonsense, it was a headache to begin with. But in any case, seeing the woods, even if only from her beloved observer’s point of view, was something she could treasure. But, unfortunately, she wasn’t her on a personal trip or the like – she was supposed to meet with some rabble for this job she’d been given. Hopefully she’d gotten the place right… it’d been on her own insistence that they weren’t meeting in the tavern, so it’d be awfully embarrassing for her to mess up the farmer’s directions afterwards. Thankfully, her natural influence gave her a bit of an upper hand here… as her sight skittered up a tree with webbing trailing behind it, her vision grew all the more at home. The hunter’s eyes; albeit in a much different manner than most thought of it, gave her the advantage in amongst these trees. It was tempting to string up a web here to make somewhere nice to lurk while she waited for her supposed company, but Natasha felt showing off like that would only lead to trouble. Instead, she simply leaned against the tree her familiar had skittered up; a near-invisible tendril of webbing draped across her shoulders extending up the bark behind her. In her habitat like this, the witch seemed to blend in despite her race and appearance; simply out of how settled she seemed. Perhaps her mentor was right, and she was a bit too in-tune with her arachnid accomplices… but, she wouldn’t trade that connection for anything in the world. Dealing with goblins, though… it wasn’t the first time she’d handled the beings, but she’d certainly been on the defensive in the past. Being the hunter like this wasn’t really her preference. She’d rather lie in wait for trouble than rush into it, but… she dearly needed the money. Her frame was outright slim at the moment, it was almost embarrassing. She’d do anything for a proper meal (by her standards, anyway), and she sought to purchase her own home in due time too... while she might manage a pittance of coin and charity from the people she helped in her time off, it really wasn’t enough to match her usual creature comforts. Alas, indeed… but, at least it was a good excuse to socialise a little bit. She’d surely meet more interesting people than the usual workers and assorted grumps, at the very least. Err… for better or worse, though…

So many things happened to Ai yesterday that she could barely process them all. She reunited with her friend, she got to have a comfy bed to sleep on, she even had a decent meal in the morning and got a chance to join in a task with a last spot... almost as if it was reserved just for her. The day couldn't be any better for her if it was starting that well but it wasn't perfect either. The task she enrolled herself in was on a team of 3 including her and two more but none of them were Sachiko. "Sacchan..." Ai gently rubbed Sachiko's head before heading out on her adventure. Unlike Ai, Sachiko was not enrolled in any on-going task and she was allowed to sleep for as much as she wanted to. "I'll be back later, Sacchan~!" Whispered Ai trying not to wake her friend up. It was already getting late and she didn't want her party to get any wrong ideas about her, it was after all part of a Mystic to be responsible and show others how capable she is. Luckily for Ai, the way from the Inn to the gates, then to the outskirts was one and very hard for even someone like her to get lost in the way. There were only a few people around and the path leading to the forest was already more and more notable. To each side of the road there were no more signs of the farmer lands but that also gave her the impression that it was just perfect for goblins to do their raids and leave unpunished. Thoughts aside, Ai had to open her small map soon. There was a meeting point with her party somewhere around her location but she couldn't find it. "It shouldn't be hard..." she though, trying to look for somebody in the forest seemed easy in the first place right? If it looks friendly it's an ally, if it looks ugly it's an enemy... Or so has been Ai's philosophy... but... "..." If Ai was more calm she would have probably noticed the blonde girl standing by a nearby tree but at this rate, she was panicking. She was more than sure that she got the location wrong and to make it worse, she didn't know how to go back anymore. Ai felt helpless and started to scratch her head in desperation, trying to think of a solution to her problem. "I'm lost... I'm lost...... What should I do....? Sacchan... someone... please save me..." Ai's eyes were watering now, she was about to cry as she fell on her knees down to the floor. It would probably be quite the show to the blonde girl who was close to her but Ai was too scared to notice at the moment. Way to start her first mission.

Post by Fianna an Cú on Sept 18, 2016 11:13:36 GMT -4
Fianna had already moved out by the dawning light of morning, naturally she had simply awaited her companions on site. The night before she'd not really slept much either, being a little giddy from this odd honey-like substance they'd given her in the tavern. Then again, it wasn't like she needed sleep right now... not at all. It also wasn't why she lay rolled up in a tree-fork, only lazily peering down on the blind-tall something-woman-person, as it passed by her. Naturally, Fianna only made an audible yawn, to attract the woman's attention, before slipping down the tree, shuddering slightly when she felt the comparatively cool wind, tear away at the cozy warmth that had lingered, from her bedstead.
Incidentally, the blonde had leant against just the tree she had been resting her eyes on, forcing Fianna to turn around lazy eyed, waving at the person. "Good Morning." She simply said, her slightly husky calm voice resounding softly in the forest segment. So this was her partner? What a tall person! She was almost a head taller than Fianna herself, in her human form, and her frame was pleasantly hulking, to the point Fianna felt that if she made this person her bed, she'd probably sink in and wake up only when called upon. How fluffy and cuddly she looked... what a great person! Naturally, Fianna smiled at Natasha affectionately, whilst swaying her shoulders and hips impatiently.
So they were going to hunt goblins, yes? At least she'd get something to eat then... that was definitely a pro. Then however, the sound of something crying reververated in her ears, the woman's hair fluttering as she turned her head abruptly... to the small thingy that was knealing there, crying its eyes out. What a poor little thing! "Be right back." Was the only thing Fianna threw at Natasha... before she squatted before the crying girl and proceeded in an attempt to pat her head, before seeking to hug her gently:"There, there little tuk-tuk... all better, all better." She'd pat the small girl's back and head some more, whilst whispering to her in a motherly, calm voice. "Look! That tall girl over there!" She pointed at Natasha. "Isn't she super pretty? I am sure some day you may also be that pretty! Come, go over to her! Say hello! Maybe hug her, I am sure she'd like it!" She really wasn't sure about that at all, but hey... hugs. Everybody liked hugs.

The initial appearance of her much more dextrous ally was something of a surprise, putting Natasha on guard for a moment before her idle greeting cooled her off – well, speaking of interesting people… it seemed someone made a leopard human somehow or another. That careful and quiet poise seemed especially at home in these woods… certainly not someone she wanted to get on the wrong side of in the midst of these leaves. Still, the blonde was on guard… a druid? Some sort of native? Or… was this one of her supposed allies? Agh, having no information was a real headache, but that seemed to come with these jobs. Though… err, she was ogling her a bit, wasn’t she? Although she wasn’t so childish to blush or the like, getting attention from a lady like this was enough to make her glance aside… ah, well, it wasn’t unwanted, in any case… While about to return the greeting, she was promptly distracted by the presence of a certain young girl, who seemed anything but accustomed to the trees. Err, bawling her heart out already…? She must have be a local who had gotten stuck in this mess or the like. However, before the blonde could give much of a reaction, her apparent comrade started fussing over her. Well, at least it was clear that the lady leopard was a kind enough soul, but… once she was addressed, Natasha just looked utterly confused – what’d she just gotten into? She was used to being the one in control, and certainly had the confidence to match; but she was not really prepared for being suddenly proclaimed as pretty and a desirable source of hugs for lost girls. Not that she had any issue with compliments or physical affection, but… this was all a bit confusing. ”W-Well now… you don’t need to go hugging me if you don’t want to…” murmured Natasha, trying to find her footing in the conversation before trying to comfort the girl; ”I’m afraid I’m on business here, but I don’t see why I couldn’t give you some directions. But, hunting goblins is dangerous, so I’m afraid I can’t just bring you along if you really are that lost…” The lady mused as she watched the girl – ah, that troubled face… it made her a bit peckish. Seeing cute people squirm, well… erk, not the time, nor the place. Walking gently over to the unlikely pair while her familiar skittered onto her back once more, Natasha didn’t quite offer a hug like her newfound comrade – but she did offer a hand, hoping to seem a little less overbearing than the leopard-lady. ”Natasha is my name… please, calm down a little? We might only be on the outskirts, but things could get dangerous if we make too much noise.” Though she felt a bit guilty for not offering more hospitality to the poor thing, she had to be a bit more realistic in this sort of situation – flirting was best left to more comfortable times. Err, flirting? No, just chatting… of course, that’s all. Even though she had the gift of sight right now, she honestly felt a bit more uneasy with dealing with this situation; at least she was a bit more calm and composed while truly blind. Though… with company like this, she would like the chance to enjoy the sights later. ”Besides, it really is a pleasant morning. Don’t you think it’s too early to be crying?”

All hope of finding her team or he way back was lost already. Ai couldn't help but cry out loud thinking of how she was failing her mission already and how shameful it'd be to face Sachiko that way, luckily for her, a weird turn of events happened and she was now captured in the warm embrace of a stranger. The feeling was just like cuddling with her best friend and it helped her relax quickly. She slowly stopped crying as well as returning the hug to the stranger, her arms unconsciously wrapping around the stranger's back and her head resting on her chest. The feeling was just the same and Ai couldn't help but unconsciously return the favor.
"Thank you... Sacchan..." Ai was so lost in her mind that she quickly forgot about everything around her. The words of comfort from the girl holding her helped her relax even more than before until the sound of another person slightly woke her up. Oddly enough, Ai didn't feel like hugging a stranger that was just approaching her, even though she was doing the same thing just now but in her mind... It was Sachiko the person she was hugging and being held by.
"Sacchan? Who's that? Do you kno--" Ai slowly turned her head towards the person she assumed was Sachiko, only to realize she was holding a complete strange the whole time. "..............." Panic hit her just as badly as when she started to cry. Ai was scared and she didn't know what to do.
"W-who are you?!" Said Ai scared while looking at the girl holding her only to struggle out of her arms and a few steps away from the two of them. "Who are you both?! Where's Sacchan?!" This time, she took a more defensive posture. She's not the best at close combat nor in a 2 vs 1 situation but it was more being scared than acting brave that led her to react this way. One of them did try to introduce herself but the one holding her didn't at all, she was running out of options and she had to think quickly to the situation.
"I-I'll have you know that I am an e-e-elite member of the Mystic clan!" A lie, a complete lie that anyone could easily see through. Given by her shaky voice and/or the fact that her clan is not really well known here unlike the borders. "I-I'm here to meet up with very important and dangerous people for a top secret mission! S-so... W-w-w-who ever you are please leave! T-there's no need for violence here!" And probably overconfident enough with her speech, Ai was thinking that her words would be just enough to scare them both off.

Hoh... who indeed was this Sacchan? Maybe the child was delirious, maybe just stupid, maybe both. What a peculiar creature! Then her companion opened her mouth, the blonde one that was. "Oh, truly. We are hunting goblins." She nodded towards the tiny girl with a smile on her face... alas it appeared she had finally realized that she was no Sacchan at all! Alas, the reaction felt rather awkward, considering she'd just held her so closely, to the point of burrying her face in her mammaries. Then again, that was probably the purpose of their cushiony nature. That and milk, although she didn't currently produce any...
So when she asked her rather strange questions, Fianna just stood straight and in the manner she'd observed in others, she bowed slightly and introduced herself:"My name is Fianna. I think that's enough to know?" She wasn't sure how long a designation usually was, even at this point. But she knew that the first name thing, usually did suffice. Not like she actually had a second name at any rate... the whoes of being born near nameless. Well, nothing to ponder over now, the little shit took priority.
"As you heard, this is Natasha and I am Fianna and we are here to hunt and kill a group of goblins." Fianna spoke with the sweetest smile she could muster, setting an emphasis on 'kill' and 'goblins'. It was such a sweet experience, might as well let the little one in on it. Only experience could teach her how fun it could be to hunt! So... natural exposure, was perfect for training her! Ahh... to be young again. Fianna sighed softly, looking into the sky for a moment, before turning back to the young thing.
"What on earth is a Mystic clan?" She then asked, still smiling, looking at Natasha in querry, as she truly had no idea who or what these Mystic clans really were. Then again... if she was waiting for these elite and dangerous people, it was rather likely that they were these people, considering the nature of this mission. "I am quite sure we will need violence. But don't worry, we are probably the important and dangerous people you are waiting for!" Fianna beamed at Ai with the brightness of a million suns, before adding:"So, you are the third member for the goblin hunt, right? Thanks for calling us important!" Fianna would approach slowly, bending over to suit Ai's height, then attempted to pat her on the head.
Towards Natasha, she simply looked and said, whilst retaining her tender smile:"It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance Natasha! You truly look splendid this early in the morning! Your hair, your curves... it all seems like somebody cut you right out of the sun and added some juicy bits for breakfast! Hawn!" She made a slight bite motion in Natasha direction with the last words, winking at her slightly. Flustering the big things was so satisfying.~ And boy, was that a big bitch... well, no literal bitch, but she certainly was womanly enough.

What a mess she’d gotten into… were all adventurers like this? No wonder she’d steered clear until now. The little girl was as hopeless as expected, and yet still managed to dig her grave deeper. If she’d been in genuine trouble, she’d definitely be doomed by now. Honestly, Natasha was sorely tempted to punish her a bit regardless… she was acting like a headstrong kid. Ah, but she did say she was here to meet with important and dangerous people, so maybe a demonstration was in order after all? A twisted smile began to slither across the blonde’s features… but, luckily for Ai, her compatriot interrupted before the witch could act on her thoughts. The lady’s idle innocence was certainly charming as she bounced around the conversation, as Natasha left the business in her hands for the time-being – she got the feeling a sensible approach to this would probably just cause trouble, given her company’s demeanour so far. But, as Fianna hastily summed up their case, she felt she ought to cool things down a bit. ”An elite, hm…? I’m afraid that with an attitude like yours, I can’t really give you the benefit of the doubt. If you’re involved with our job, then you should probably be more professional… and if not, you should probably just step aside. An elite wouldn’t have any trouble with stragglers like us, would they?”Content with the dismissive banter, Natasha waltzed a few steps away from the pair; swaying elegantly – though perhaps her serene image was hurt a bit by the impressive spider still skittering around her shoulders. ”If you’re not so sure, though; you’re welcome to place yourself in our care. The company would be nice, at the very least. Ah… but if you insist on causing any trouble, I’ll have to silence you by force, alright? So, you’ll be good, won’t you?” The lady’s glassy eyes glanced back with that threat on her lips… she didn’t really want to waste any of her web on something as trivial as this, but… it certainly wasn’t the worst image in the world. Besides, the little heroine said there was no need for violence, so she’d be doing the right thing, wouldn’t she? Unfortunately, her compatriot had other ideas in mind for matters of discussion – damn, it was much too early for her to put up with this weird approach to flirting. She’d usually be confident about matters of this nature, but this lady’s strange compliments just put her a bit on guard. Was she being hit on, or was she being threatened? Err, well, perhaps this was a taste of her own medicine. ”Mm, well, the pleasure is all mine. I definitely don’t mind such a bold suitor, but I think it’s a bit late for breakfast… and I’ve always thought of myself as something more suited to dinner, you know?” replied Natasha, doing her best to remain composed – but she wasn’t too proud of her response, all the same. Not her pithiest work. ”You’re hardly underwhelming yourself, though. If we’re speaking of heavenly bodies, then I think you fit the word better than me, ufufu.””But, I don’t think it would be good for us to trouble this young lady if she isn’t involved with us, so we had best set out upon our mission lest we end up muddling in her ‘top secret mission’. I don’t like to make a habit of being a bother for cute girls anyway… unless I really like them.” mused the blonde, leaning gently upon her staff as a makeshift cane; ”I’d like to get this mission done swiftly, so I don’t see any point in waiting regardless. Besides, the longer we wait, the more time those goblins have to notice us… I don’t really want to have my career cut quite this short.”

Narration Not far off, Gobby, Gonab, Gonid, Gopad and Gadib sat around a camp fire, their weapons dropped on the ground. They were roasting a deer leg over the fire. Meanwhile Gnob who had his trusty bow fired pot shots at a squirrel that they had captured, the poor critter was dangling from a string attached to a tree. Gnob was a lousy shot so the suffering continued. Gonab was the one talking, in goblinoid and he recounted a story. He was the second oldest of the group after Goatgob, their shaman. He was telling that before the orcs came to their cave, they had raided 2 human farms. He was telling his companions that chicken poop tasted best. Gonib on the other hand refuted the claim that cow dung was better tasting. A fist fight ensued between the two goblins, the other goblin's laughed loud. Life was good. Goatgob was also not far from the camp, with his one reaming good eye he scratched his chin. Behind him was his abused trusty boar. Goatgob clutched at his twig staff as he read the clouds. Behind him, bored looking were Gon, Gobnob, Got and Gobbins who sat in a circle and flicked buggers at each other. Farther away from camp were the Goregob's twins, armed with spears and riding their boars.

Were these women really the group she was supposed to meet with? And they found her showing such a shameful act... Ai wanted to die at this point out of embarrassment. Nothing she could say or do would ever make up for the weakness she just showed but the words from the woman by the name of Fianna somehow made her feel at ease again. She was not Sachiko but they both shared something similar that made her feel safe and that was just enough. Natasha in the other hand... "...Scary" No other words could describe her thoughts on the blonde that was still a bit away from them. She knew almost instantly that it would be a bad idea to cross paths with her so the best thing to do would be to stay as far away from her as possible but... "I need to settle things up first somehow..." Time was running short in her hands (Literally) and she had to come up with an apology or an excuse quick if she wanted to get out of this mess. "S-so you're the ones I was looking for... I-I see..." She was struggling now to keep a confident posture, she didn't want to mess up again in front of the two who... seemed rather close given how they treated or flirted with each other. Ai wondered if people ever looked at her and Sachiko that way too. "My name is Ai... The Mystic clan is a small group of battle mages which I belong to..." Ai lowered her guard and cleaned her face, then showed the mark of her clan to them. It wouldn't be of surprise if they didn't know anything about them given how small it is but she had to properly introduce herself as she was taught, besides... They didn't look like robbers or assassins and the task was about hunting goblins... "Here, this mark in my gloves is proof of that." She then regained some of her composure but there was no time to lose, Ai had to move quick and get "two" problems out of her mind, at least for now. "I am also a medic, my job here will be keeping you two safe..." Ai took the chance during her explanation to draw a star symbol with her right hand in the air while letting the girl's attention drop to her left hand glowing with magic. If she was lucky enough, they wouldn't notice the quick contract she was sealing with herself with Fianna as a target. There was no way in the world she would target Natasha given how frightened she was of her. "If you would allow me to demonstrate my power... just make a small cut on my hand and I'll heal it instantly!" Whether they believe her or not, she would use her power be it nicely or without them knowing.
OOC: Ai's Mystic Contract passive is up now and she'll benefit from the Slayer she targeted. Extra effects during the mission can be viewed here.

This was going into strange directions. It did seem like the little one liked her, somewhat at least. Why she was scared of the pretty blonde one was beyond Fianna, alas such matters were best left to those who decided on them, so not her. She was quite sure, they weren't stragglers, although it seemed she was... joking? Or maybe just making fun of the little one. Cruel, but charming... hah... a cruel mistress! That could be fun in its own right, if mistress was even the right word for this kind of family member... pack, whatever.
"Oh... battle mages, I see." Fianna nodded with a caring smile, having no idea what to make of this. So she... was a battle mage? She could hurl fireballs and some-such? That was interesting, to say the least, though someone so young... well, she probably should not go hurling anything harmful around, least she wanted to set her compatriots fannies on fire. Which was not an exactly attractive thought, if perhaps an amusing one... hoh... Fianna gave Natasha a stern look, almost unconsciously, as if to imagine her in that situation... then grinned a little and turned her face back to Ai.
"No need to prove anything." Fianna shrugged, with a soft expression on her face, her stance completely relaxed, before she stretched out her tongue at Natasha a little. "I am not sure how my body is supposed to be heavenly, to be perfectly honest. I don't look much like a bird, do I? Or what makes it so appealing to you?" She did want to hear praises, compliments were nice! So encouraging the other woman to continue, was by no means a bad thing... probably. Although there was a chance she was merely teasing here. "Regardless, I think you'd be great to have for any meal of the day." She chuckled with a slightly husky voice, before squatting down before Ai.
"A battle-mage as a medic?" She then asked, tilting her head whilst looking just slightly up to the other. How curious... what had to give to make one such as her into a medic? Wasn't she supposed to be more harm- than useful? Oh, well... no point in doubt- Why was her hand glowing? "Why is your hand glowing?" Fianna asked, mostly because the other hand was closer in her field of vision than the raised one. "If you want to heal me, no need. I am fully healed I assure you and will likely need healing only rarely. The beautiful Natasha, could perhaps use your aid though!" With this Fianna would try to put her hands on Ai's shoulders, turn her towards Natasha... and maybe give her a light shove, with a pat on the extended back for encouragement.
"In any case, Natasha is right. We should get a move on!" With this, Fianna would get up into the branches of the trees, making her way through them, whilst sticking close to the group, jumping from tree to tree, as silently as was possible to her. Having an elevated position, could hardly harm visibility... and the branch-works should still be decent cover in this time of year... her shade was at least reddish-brown enough to not be too out of order with her environment, under most circumstances.
