Unsurprisingly Natasha wasn’t really in any state to notice Ai’s avoidance of her, nor pay it much mind – she little girl was just blustering on about being elite, so it was probably not worth any trouble. Similarly, Fianna seemed to be playing about in her imagination… ah, but she really shouldn’t be wasting her sight on just staring at others; there was trouble afoot. A blessing ought be treated with more respect… probably. While the blonde was still looking away from the group, the spider on her shoulders shuffled around to face forward alongside her now. Nothing really in sight yet, but… the faint scent of smoke lingered in the air. Probably someone on the outskirts, though… too faint to bother with. ”Ah, you’ll have to wait until after the work for any more compliments, please. That goes for both of you, too.” mused Natasha, not especially keen on being speared while in the midst of teasing some poor thing. It would make for a truly undignified epitaph. Well, maybe they could at least write ‘She died as she lived’. ”A healer is certainly welcome, though. I’m sure you’ll make a fine compatriot. Usually I’d find someone being so skittish on work like this a worry, but I think it might be for the best if you’re meant to take the back line.” Not that Natasha could really brag about being brave, herself. She was already worrying about her back… she hadn’t dealt with goblins where she’d come from, so she wasn’t sure what to expect. She’d been assured it would be a simple problem, but… ugh. Money was always a problem, wasn’t it? However, it seemed Fianna was pretty insistent on distracting her, sending the little mage in her direction again. ”I appreciate the thought, but I don’t think you can cure my blindness with any kind of magic, if that’s what you’re trying to say. Otherwise, I’m unharmed, so please don’t worry about me.” reassured the lady gently, beginning to move on ahead – slower, now; careful to make as little noise as she could despite her elegant gait. It was a witch thing… err, well, probably. ”If you’re still nervous, Ai, you should stay a little behind with me. Judging by our company’s spears, I think it might be for the best if we don’t go charging in.”For a moment, a frown coloured Natasha’s face. Hopefully no one would think twice about that comment, though. Best to just keep talking and breeze over it. Thus, she turned her attention to Ai for the time-being. ”In case of trouble, make Fianna’s safety your first priority. I’m not at all suited to close-combat encounters, nor speed, so she’s certainly ideal for keeping any trouble handled while you tend to finer matters. Um, that doesn’t mean leave me to die or anything either, but… you know. My magic has some range to it, so I can’t quite hold people’s attention as well. And, given my eyesight… physical tasks can be a bit more complicated.” The lady paused in the midst of her little strategy lecture, feeling like she was probably underselling herself far too much. ”That said, my magic is excellent, I can assure you. I don’t quite have a title as simple as a Mystic or battle mage, but… well, let’s say I’m just a witch for now. I’m sure you’ll understand soon enough.”

With her main plan failing and the party already moving there was not much else to do. With her contract sealed she could feel that one of her partners was a Slayer but she was unsure about Natasha, she however offered Ai to stay behind her so assuming she was a Vanguard was somehow reassuring... That and the fact that she was scary made sense to Ai.
"Alright..." Ai's face showed more seriousness towards the mission as she nods to Natasha (If she would somehow notice it). "My powers are a bit tricky but I'll provide as much support as I can!" Said Ai while walking behind the trail of leaves that Fianna left while scouting ahead. Goblins sure were a threat to Ai but if the mission extended just a bit longer she could at least prove to be useful once before heading back to the safety of her scary partner.
Still, Ai was in a sticky situation and if any of her allies were to face her directly they would easily notice the lack of confidence in herself. It was not what they were fighting but the numbers that scared her. She was given little information but rumors say that goblins are numerous, if that was true... "Will I be safe?..." She turned her head a bit to look at Natasha behind her from over her shoulder. "She's a vanguard... so I shouldn't be worrying about this.. right?" Ai completely forgot about Natasha telling her to stay behind and continued to walk a bit faster and slowly away from her. She was not paying attention but she was also super confident about Fianna being way ahead.
"If we were to be ambushed... They would go after Fianna or Natasha so if I stay in the middle I can run to either of them and aid them quickly!" Ai giggled a bit, it was like a perfect plan but more importantly, it was helping her feel a bit more confident about the whole situation. In reality, Ai was just trying to avoid thinking about the worse thing that could happen in her missions.
OOC: At her next post, Ai's Healing Touch will have increased effects.

Yes, yes... she should be at the frontlines, she could take a bit of a beating without dying. And she was good at dodging at that... so she could probably do that. No need for the two puppies to get slaughtered, although the blonde one did look like she could... well... tank a lot. If just because of the fat functioning as cushioning. But hey, fat was better than nothing, although flesh wounds were still a possibility. Alas, Fianna kept to scouting using her good senses to try and make out potential traps from her elevated position, as well as smoke in case the gobos had raided something recently.
"Yes, do keep me save." Fianna said from the crown of a tree. "And in turn I will keep you guys save too. That's how a pack works, no?" Fianna would have smiled at them, but her position likely hid her from their eyes, leaving only her voice behind. If the blonde was good at range and both were support... well then she'd have to take the brunt of the fight. That wasn't anything she didn't consider appropriate though, she -was- a predator, so killing was just part of her nature. Protecting her pack was a nice bonus on top of that and these two were her pack from now on.
Simplicity certainly had its perks, which was also why Fianna used her good nose and her eyes to peer to all sides and sniff out smoke and/or the smell of Goblins. There should be signs eventually, although people and cow-dung would likely also lead them to results. Or dung in general really. After all, animals... well, animals shat a lot. So following the stench of shit, should get them to the green shit. Which meant that goblins wouldn't be far. Content with this conclusion, Fianna picked up the scent of a farm and simply said:"This way." Before heading towards it, moving through the trees, occasionally hanging herself onto a strong branch upside down, so the two could keep following her.
It was all good, no problem at all. As long as they stuck together. Just the... why was the little one drifting so far off? Didn't they say they'd stick together a little behind? Uhhh... weird. "Hey! Ai! Little one! Go to Natasha, don't wander off, or I'll bite you!" It was a bit like a threat of spanking, usually employed for pups, but it'd probably get the message across either way. Don't step out of line or feel the teeth! Such was the nature of packs. Especially with the young incompetent ones. Teaching was necessary!

While glad to hear that Ai was getting herself into gear now (based on her voice, anyway; she couldn’t really spy her face from her arachnid aide’s current angle), the lady was not as pleased to find her suggestion was entirely ignored – the little heroine went wandering off like a fool ahead of her despite her warnings. How old was this girl, exactly? It would be cute if this wasn’t a life-threatening situation… no, actually, it’d still be kind of annoying. Thankfully, Fianna was willing to reinforce her point, leaving Natasha with a little haughty pout. See, listen to onee-sama! Honestly, there was a reason why she took the lead in the first place… However, she got the feeling her compatriot wasn’t going to take the hint in a hurry, so she decided to take matters into her own hands. A bit literally, in fact. Striding ahead to catch up with the healer, Natasha took the mystic’s hand like she would a child’s – frankly, it seemed like a fitting comparison at the moment… she’d like to say that Ai would be in worse trouble if she wandered off in this situation, but given her earlier presentation she would probably just get lost again. While she took the girl’s hand a bit roughly, she offered a gentle smile down at her comrade, praying internally that she didn’t make a scene of things. As if this ‘adventure’ could get any more of a mess. On the plus side, though, she got to hold hands with a cute girl, right? ”Just stay with me, alright? I’ll take good care of you…”It seemed Fianna was on top of things, at least; her bizarre persona being very much made up for with her professionalism while on the job. Honestly, Natasha was a tiny bit jealous that she couldn’t bounce around in the trees like that… suffice to say, that sort of dexterity was never something she’d really had. ”Mm, if you wander off again, I’ll bite you, too.” mused the blonde idly, though she got the feeling her joke would be utterly misinterpreted by the healer – that was half the fun, though. Though… shouldn’t trouble be on its way soon? Oof, she was getting hungry, honestly… maybe she would bite Ai. ”Eh… does anyone else smell game cooking…?”

OOC: Ai's Healing Touch is overcharged now, increased effects will be applied.
Hearing the words of her hybrid ally ahead calmed her a little. Ai was determined to keep them both safe, she was a healer after all and she would prove everybody that she's a capable one. To be called a pack... Well, it's kind of okay coming from someone like her she thought, as long as there is some kind of trust in the party then everything would be fine.
"Everything will be fine" Thought Ai while smiling and walking ahead.
After following her ally for a while she had to stop suddenly to her yelling. Oddly enough, the words that made her stop was "Wander off or I'll bite you". "Was that meant as a joke? or is danger really up ahead and following her directly would be dangerous?" Whichever the case, it would be wise to listen to the tall lady instead of getting bitten for no reason... Or so she thought. She was about to move away as ordered but she was suddenly stopped.
"huh...?" Her other ally, the scary one was holding her hand and stopping her from moving. This time however she was smiling and even though her hand was hurting a bit she didn't feel scared at all. Ai gulped and didn't feel like moving anymore, she instead moved her hand a little to help the hurting stop and held hers back, unconsciously having her powerful healing go through Natasha's body filling her with energy if she didn't have a wound to be healed. She then turned around only to blush at her words "Isn't that something you tell a lover? But why is she...? Was she actually being scary on purpose...? This is bad..." She couldn't really reply back but only with a nod.
"Eh..?" Then the scary feeling came back to her as she struggled a bit to get off her hand. "Why would she threat to bite me? I was doing as Fianna asked, to wander off or else I'd get bitten... Now she says that I'll get bitten if I do it? What should I do then?..." Ai was slowly getting more confused, she really didn't know what else to do so she just stopped moving until one of them gave her a proper order.

She was curious about the ensuing situation... at least a little bit, however, the situation before them took precedence. Fianna too could notice the smell of game, fried over a fire... and something else if she wasn't entirely wrong. Alas, scouting the situation wound likely be the best. The greater Wolfwere thus turned to Natasha and Ai, speaking as quietly as possible:"I am sure we are about to get some company, follow me in a bit of a distance... if necessary I'll lure them into the woods here, should we be dealing with evil Gobos." With this Fianna made for the direction of the smell, sticking to the trees to remain largely out of sight. She didn't want the goblins to spy her right off the bat.
Once the fireplace got into view however, Fianna just remained still in the crown of the trees, opening her third eye, to spy and study the Goblins before her. Noticing weaknesses well before battle, as well as placements and possible dangers was definitely something she should be doing. Alas, she would not engage them for now, only observe them to take in whatever she could possibly see... there seemed to be a fair number of them at the very least, so that was... well, better than nothing, presumably? In either case, she should warn the others before they could run right in the middle of the Gobo camp.
As a result, Fianna just moved back, after observing the Goblins from her elevated and still fairy distanced position, having used her third eyes to improve her senses to properly observe them, whilst not having to get into range of their archers or guards herself. It would be bad if they spied her right now, without her being able to warn her pack members. But alas, she'd do so now... Needless to say, Fianna moved through the tree crowns, backtracking and using her senses to find the well smelling Natasha and the slightly sweet smelling Ai. Yes... there they were. Fianna hopped out of the tree branches without a warning, her slender body stretching for a moment, after she was finally able to take a relaxed position again. "Alright young ones, there's goblins ahead! A fair bunch of them. They don't seem to have noticed me so far, but I'd rather not be facing them all at once. If you wanna talk to them, do so... but make sure you can come back alive if negotiations fail! Which they often do with greenery like that... huh..." Fianna tilted her head in thought lightly.
Remaining in thought the Wolfwere then scraped her hip against the tree next to her, as if to deal with an itch, whilst continuing:"Should we fight them, I'd like you two to stay in positions designated by me, alright? Then I can lure the Gobos your way a little bit, but force them to seperate at least a little bit, what with this being a forest and all. Then we should be able to pick them off well and I will enjoy some homeground advantage... I will stick close to you guys, so no worries. You will be bait, but you won't take the attack if I can help it, if you get what I mean?" Fianna ceased her tree induced butt scratching, before smiling at the two of them tenderly. Their answers would determine her next course of action.

Although pleased enough that Ai had halted as she’d hoped, Natasha was more than a bit surprised to be met with magic in response for her cautiousness. Jolting a little as the magical sensation flowed through her, the blonde expected trouble and let go of the magician – maybe the healer had cursed her in a sudden act of self-defence or something. But, the subtle euphoria of the healing energy left her more confused, her glassy eyes going wide from the addicting sensation for a moment… well, this certainly wasn’t unpleasant, but just what had happened? Unsure of what to make her new state, the lady moved her arms and head around experimentally, clearly confused by the experience. Her familiar’s sight didn’t seem to notice anything odd, at least, not that its position on her back was really ideal for that in the first place… well, she felt fine for now, so things ought to be okay… ”How uncanny… I hope you haven’t done anything troublesome to me, but I feel alright for now…” mused Natasha, focussing herself back on the situation at hand – at the very least, her clueless compatriot had stopped at last. Thankfully, her other ally seemed a lot more understanding of their situation; making her intentions clear before she scurried about. At least someone had brought eyes to this situation. Just gently continuing forward in Fianna’s absence, she didn’t cover much ground before the wolfish woman returned with her report. ”I think negotiations should be left until we’re in a position of power. Until then… thinning the numbers seems like a nice plan to me.” Nodding to herself with a tiny smirk, Natasha seemed especially pleased by her words – she’d sounded really cool, hadn’t she? Ah, Ai ought to be impressed. This was what being a witch was all about. ”I very much agree with your plan should hostilities commence, Fianna; the forest is best for me as well. You’re in luck, too; traps are one of my fortes. As long as you stay aware while fighting these foes, I’m sure you’ll be very appreciative of them.”Giving her familiar a gentle flick to encourage it up and onto her shoulders to give herself a better view, Natasha gently raised a hand to conjure her magic – between her fingers, tiny strands began to dance and entwine like a human sewing machine; gradually extending from her hand and between two trees. As the threads flicked about a pattern soon emerged; the familiar circular weave of a spider web, gradually stretching out from the middle of the pair of trees as if watching a spider work at a hundred times the speed of any natural creation. But, while watching it come together was somewhat enchanting, when it was finished it gradually faded into the background without Natasha’s guiding weave… like any typical spider’s web, it was almost impossible to see without the light shining off of it, and with the forest’s canopy – well, sunlight was at a slight premium. Smiling with pride, Natasha trotted along a good few metres to another pair of trees, clearly intending to repeat her artwork. ”Now now, don’t spend too much time gaping, as much as I might appreciate the attention. These webs are as lethal as you might expect, especially for anything… small.” remarked the blonde deviously, glancing rather meaningfully at Ai before returning her attention to her next work-in-progress. ”You might want to make their positions in some way on the trees for your own sake, Fianna… they’ll certainly trouble any goblin that tumbles into them. Easy pickings, or a chance to negotiate with us in charge? Well, either is fine with me…”

Ai felt a bit of relief after Natasha let go of her, she got to hold her hand and rub it carefully as it was hurting after her partner's rough grabbing. The words that came out of her mouth right after confused her as nothing she could possibly do would be bad for anyone in her team, whichever the case, her trump card was already used unconsciously the moment Natasha grabbed her and she only had two tools with her to help her with the situation at hand. "I'm not good at direct combat... I could try and be diplomatic with them maybe?" Asked Ai hoping they would consider her words but...
"..."
Soon after she spoke, both her allies were already shutting down the idea and prepared for combat. It was like they were doing things they way and she was okay with that, however, Ai couldn't help but feel a bit sad about it. She then took her staff out and moved as far away as possible from them, if they were going to lure the goblins their way then she knew she had to stay behind to provide support. Healers like her are also focused first so maybe hiding would be helpful in a way, also if they engaged in combat she could come in later and heal their wounds as they fight.
"I'll hide over here!" Said Ai after waving her hand from behind a tree. With the way her allies were setting up the battlefield and the lack of her healing touch she would have to rely on her staff for now.
OOC: Ai's Mystic's body passive is now active and her healing touch is on cooldown for the following 5 posts (her own posts). She can also still heal everyone with her staff.

Fianna nodded eagerly. It was about time that she'd get to actually do something! Digging her fangs into some goblins would most certainly alleviate this odd feeling of boredom. Hearing Natasha's mention of traps, made her pay attention however. She really didn't want to run into them if it wasn't absolutely necessary, so marking them would be good. Keeping a close eye on Natasha preparing the traps, Fianna then stepped near the trees they were tied to and brushed against them with her body, effectively marking them with her own scent, as if to clearly indicate territory. This was a mark she could not possibly miss... and only wolves or dogs would likely react to it at all.
At Natasha's words however, the Wolfwere snickered a little, noting:"Well, I don't think I am gaping at all, unless I missed you doing something to me." Before wiggling her butt a little into Natasha's general direction, with a coquette smile on her face. Promiscuity was a term she was not really familiar with, but if she had been, she would have considered it a positive trait. Making intentions and interests clear was likely the most valuable thing to her and to disregard the possibility of fun was not something she regarded as particularly productive behaviour. Alas, it was not the time for it now, but the message and the possibility should be noted regardless. Not like it was a bad thing, considering no offspring could be produced between two females.
Then Fianna made to the trees once more, getting back to the Goblin camp, before shortly contemplating how to best go about it... she decided that running in just a bit and then stopping short with a curse and a thrown spear, would likely serve her best. Thus, the woman jumped off her tree... started sprinting into the camp, only to stop short immediately, cursing loudly:"OH SHIT!" Before throwing her longer spear, still using her third eye, to accurately impale one of the surprised goblins on it, the weapon driving through it's throat rather effortlessly, as she'd struck the rather weak point. Generally, she managed to find a number of weak points, although they were nothing out of the ordinary of humanoids anyway.
Fianna sprinted back to the forest post-haste, before they could find their bearings and shoot at her, whilst she was out of cover, but alas... her cover was not far away. Thus, running in zig-zag, she found her way between the trees, whilst hearing the agigated group of Goblins scream and give chase... they couldn't well have her warn possible outsiders or reinforcements after all! Fianna in the meantime set to the tree-tops again, jumping and moving in with quick bursts of movement, only remaining in place shortly and showing herself before the goblins again when absolutely necessary, to allow them to give chase... alas, this was so distributed that they would soon have to split into groups, even the forest itself made it impossible to move in one large block at any rate... so... they came closer and closer... soon finding the nets and webbing, that Fianna was leading them to.

Ai’s offer was unsurprising, but entertaining all the same; earning a little smile of genuine amusement at her utter innocence from Natasha – and even a pat on the head for her troubles. ”I’m afraid that as much as I’d wish for a such an easy solution, diplomacy wasn’t part of the mission… goblins breed easily, don’t they? So, it’d be a much bigger problem in the future… it’s a shame thy’re not civilised enough for jobs and such, but…” mused the blonde lady, frowning slightly to herself – she wasn’t really big on the feeling that was coming from this operation in general, but a quest was a quest; as much as she loathed to use that term for something as plain as this. With that said, though, she let Ai dart away to shelter. Now, she just had to pray that the healer was wise enough to stay there… well, she’d get nothing done if she didn’t put some faith in her. For the moment, Natasha carefully spun another net of web across some of the trees while her compatriots were still paying attention… err, well, hopefully they were… Unfortunately, she wasn’t in any state to give her little comrade any more advice when Fianna gave her little reply – while initially Natasha was just a bit confused, the motion she noticed with her secondhand sight made the lady immediately frown with utmost disgust. Really, this was the sort of person she was working with? She knew the girl seemed brutish, but she got a better grade of vocabulary than that from bar-dwellers… and after a few drinks, too! How droll… turning her head to one side, Natasha could not help but huff, quite literally turning her nose up at the sight. Tsk, but there was hardly time to worry about that sort of thing now, was there…? Once she regained her composure, her fiery ally had already sprinted ahead – peace, for the moment. Slipping amongst the trunks with grace that hardly fit her disability, Natasha let her familiar slip up a tree and out of sight as she moved alongside one of her webs. Her magic was best used on trapped prey after all, so she had no reason to stay in harm’s way. Standing on the opposite side of her first web, the blonde hoped to seem like a perfect target for any simple soul wishing to charge right in… and, in a pinch, the web would stop most ranged nonsense too; though it’d give away its presence too. Hopefully they wouldn’t bet on a second one, though. As she tensed in anticipation of a struggle, though; a cry rang out across the forest… …well, after her previous display, Natasha couldn’t say she was surprised by Fianna’s choice of language, but she was still frustrated all the same. Was that her war cry? Or was it genuine? In any case, there was clearly trouble on its way. Thankfully, her second pair… err, second set of eight eyes gave her a bit of fair warning – one, two… three, four… five; it appeared five goblins were taking up the chase. One with a bow… hm, reinforcements were on their way, too, by the sound of things. This wasn’t a very good sign… it didn’t seem like any of Natasha’s group had been well-suited for handling a group of ill-intending ne’er-do-wells; at least certainly not she herself. She wouldn’t be given much more time to worry about her situation, though; as the panther woman raced straight by her – with her tiny riot in tow. As Natasha had hoped for, they took the most straight forward path, and right into her webbing… while she’d be concerned in most cases about her web’s sturdiness, in this case she had no such worries – goblins weren’t really the most sizable of creatures. Sizing up her catches with nefarious satisfaction, Natasha’s eyes narrowed… she didn’t like the idea of tasting goblin, but a meal was a meal…! Suffice to say, her catches weren’t exceptionally pleased by their new situation – like a fly in a web, indeed; but a lot more squeaky and smelling somewhat of farmyard manure. Still, it looked like the game was already over… the witch’s hands swirled with abhorrent magic, prepared to snatch some lives away… …but, in just a second, her eyes turned the size of plates despite lacking anything to actually look at; as it felt like a horse had just ploughed into her. She wasn’t far off, as her web got a new catch… an entire charging boar along with its unlikely mount. In an ideal situation, it wouldn’t be a problem for her trap – but having already taken a number of impacts, and having to deal with a particularly frustrated boar… things weren’t looking quite so grand. Though soundless, the web’s strain was obvious; and Natasha herself could certainly feel it, her face turning pale. This… wasn’t as planned…! But, it was holding! There was still hope! So long as… Ah, she hadn’t placed any bets on a second and third boar – her arachnid aide noticed them a good few seconds before they’d be near her work, so the witch was given a nice moment to contemplate her miserable fate. Well, it’d been a fun ride. Dust to dust and all that. She didn’t really want to scar that poor little healer with this nonsense, but if she was going to die a bloody fate, then may as well do it on the job. Not really legendary, but at this point it wasn’t worth worrying about. A twinkle of a smile flashed onto the nervous lady’s face, despite everything. To face death by midgets with dignity… she’d become a fine witch. Fate was not so simple-minded, though. With a quiet twang, Natasha could feel the webbing snap – but not in the way she expected. The first boar finally ran out of steam, suddenly taking off all that momentum and pressure the web was dealing with… and hence letting the strands try and snap back in place. But, with all their suction worn off… well, a green cluster bomb went off instead; sending a spray of particularly vocal buckshot back towards their mounted comrades. While it was a spectacular display, the results weren’t particularly helpful – beyond a goblin or two that had conked out from knocking far too hard into tree trunks and a very miserable boar deciding to take its leave through its kin, leaving their riders sprawled about on the ground by the knocked over pigs. There were still plenty of combatants still about for the team to deal with, albeit rather confused ones. To no one’s surprise, Natasha was left looking like a deer in the way of a wagon. She’d had enough of… whatever this was for one day.
