It really was a miserable situation... the cold of the evening’s wind made Mairwen’s fur stand on end, leaving him shivering as he finally shuffled into the Heaven’s Door – he really was hoping to give a good impression as a bard here, but after being hassled for the fourth time over his current outfit, well… he didn’t really feel like dealing with anyone at all. Clad in his wondrous songstress’ dress, the boy was in no state to be picky about where he stayed; much less worry about the inn’s reputation. He’d only just got into the city; he couldn’t care less so long as he had somewhere warm to curl up! After sleeping on the road so much, anything better than a tree branch would be a miracle at this point…
Trying his best to ignore the curious glanced his colourful outfit was receiving, the feline headed straight for the counter; glancing about for any hint of the innkeeper – but in the midst of his nervousness as well as amongst such a crowd of mismatched adventurers, merchants, and anything in-between, he had no clue who was who. Meekly giving in to attracting attention on his own terms, Mairwen awkwardly tapped the counter’s bell; failing to make it ring out properly a few times before getting the ticket… and only drawing more attention to his awkwardness. Honestly, he got the feeling things would only be worse if he’d been in his adventuring outfit…
Shivering with cold as the wind swirled around his exposed shoulders, the feline gave a great swallow as he tried to conjure up some courage – he’d have to get some more attention, wouldn’t he? But if he talked… ah, that’d definitely doom him! The voice he’d been cursed with… no doubt any actual lady would perhaps call it a blessing, but that sort of attention definitely wasn’t what he wanted to attract! But otherwise, he might be sleeping on the street tonight… uwaa! It wasn’t fair, it wasn’t fair at all! Closing his eyes tightly, Mairwen decided to just take the leap – if the bell hadn’t been enough, he’d be even more awkward, so he should just…!
”E-Excuse me!”
What would be a squeak for any other soul rang out like the chime of a bell instead, the voice of a songstress making the words hang in the air like a spell instead of just being blown away by the hustle around him – he could already feel the eyes pinning him down to the spot, even as he stared straight ahead at the wall behind the counter… aah, he wanted to just run away! When he showed up again in his proper outfit, he was going to be in so much trouble here… maybe he’d just have to pretend to be a girl through-and-through this time?! He didn’t want to give up like that, but compared to this… he felt light-headed just standing here!
