Despite the rumors of the Mistress that ran the Inn, Kouko had nowhere else to go nor the coin to buy a house for herself or something. She had to deal with whatever danger awaited inside. It was around 5 pm when she arrived to Hyo Shin and it took her about two hours asking around for the Inn and listening to stories about it. At this point she couldn't really care less anymore. Kouko was tired, her feet were hurting and all she wanted was to sleep for a day or two. She didn't even think twice about the consequences, she opened the doors to the Inn and walked inside. For her surprise the place was rather comfy and it didn't seem as bad as the stories told. A relief for her at least.
Kouko looked around after walking in but there didn't seem to be anybody around, where they cleaning or something? She didn't know and she didn't care but if this was the right place then someone would be at the counter the moment the bell rings right?. Without further thought, Kouko moved forward. The noise made by her sandals could be easily heard in the room breaking the silence in the place. After she arrived to the counter, like a shy kitten she looked around for the bell with her hand. She was really short and not even standing on her toes was enough for her to look on the counter, only her ears were showing. After a few minutes of struggling she managed to find it and made it ring about two times.
"Room for one, please." Said Kouko in a slightly high tone. It was getting late outside and she didn't want to wake whoever was sleeping in the Inn by yelling. Hopefully someone would approach her and she would get the rent done with to sleep right away in her bed.

Narration "Eeek!" Maltida suddenly woke up by the rigging of the desk bell. She had doze off and fallen asleep on the cool wooden flooring. The tiny Hybrid girl for some reason or another had ended up as being Noy's attendant when the Inn mistress was away or in one of her moods. Matilda was tired mostly because for one reason or another, the days she had to work night shifts in the inn she couldn't sleep. Well she DID sleep but she normally woke up really tired. It was really strange and Maltilda didn't get it, honestly she was already starting to think of quitting but there weren't any better paying jobs willing to take her in... Suddenly remember she had a job to do, Maltida bolted up from under the desk. Shooting straight up, her ears too perked up. Her face was deep red in shame, she had been caught sleeping on the job! "W-w-w-w-welcome to the Heaven's Door Inn, where you will sleep like an Angel, or so the mistress says!" Because she was in full panic mode, Matilda was rambling, and words poured out her mouth like a waterfall. She barely noticed that the guest was another Half-Breed like her, she didn't even notice that only her ears could be seen from the counter. Though this time it was a cat girl! Since she was a dog girl herself they probably wouldn't get along, but because Maltida was not in her right state of mind between panic and being half asleep she didn't notice. "Room for one? Uuuuuh yes! right away, uhhhh" She vanished from under the counter and then emerged again with the ledger. "Name here, it'll be 30 silver coins, no refunds but guaranteed bed and storage for a month!" Maltida turned around grabbed a key. "Room 31, left wing. The owner will be with you when she arrives hehehehe!" Matilda was losing it, so she hid under the counter again...

Some people often praise Kouko for achieving an almost perfect spirit fusion with her Cat Ancestor. Others simply look at her with respect and treat her differently from the rest, yet they all fail to see what she has to endure every day. A few minutes passed before she heard some movement from behind the counter, the voice of a girl probably around her age judging by the tone who was being rather loud panicked her a little bit. She was told of the Inn being ran by a mistress but never heard of assistants of her... but that would be her fault, not the maid's. "..." Everything seemed going in order but there was just one problem... Kouko couldn't reach the counter to sign in or pay for her rent, it was just bigger than her. "........."No other ideas came to her mind but to walk around it and ask the girl directly to hand it to her so she could get everything done with. Kouko even tried getting on her toes but the girl was nowhere to be found either. "What's going on here? I wonder..."Without hesitation, Kouko moved to the open side of the counter where one would go in and out and for her surprise, a hybrid just like her. "..."In another situation and maybe in her Fox or Human form nothing would have happened. Kouko's Cat form dominate her mind and body when it comes to situations that triggers the spirit fused with her soul. In this case, the encounter of a dog-girl and a cat-girl. Kouko's mind went blank for a moment and her body reacted on its own, this impulse was not out of anger but only her soul being playful. The girl who would avoid talking to anybody was now leaping at Matilda, her eyes were wide open and her face was filled with a smile. Her arms were open aiming for the other girl who was barely hiding behind the counter. If she doesn't move at all she will be taken down on the floor by the force of the cat-girl who was clearly aiming for a tackle and a hug afterwards. Kouko's cat soul have also been starving for love, affection and attention the past days so a scene like this was to be expected. Unlike other cat vs dog encounters, Kouko's Cat soul have always been friendly with dogs and it has the bad manners of getting into rough plays with them. Kouko can still watch through her eyes everything that happens but cannot speak for herself or do anything to prevent it. Such is the hard-life of the Cat-girl.

Narration The next turn of events was way over poor Matilda's head. Though because she was a dog hybrid and the fact that she was hiding from the guest she had rudely seen too, she heard how they shuffled around the counter and to the exposed side. However, being to afraid to look the honored guest in the face, Matilda kept to the floor with her doggy ears flat against her head and her tail tuck between her legs. Matilda barely had time to turn around when a cat lady pounced on her smiling. "Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!" The maid screeched as she tumbled to the ground and was pressed on the wooden flooring by the small cat lady, she looked like a kid. Was she lost? Wait is she a cat? WHAAAAAAAT? Deep down, in a genetic or perhaps ancestral level Matilda's dog blood boiled. It was probably because there was the imprint of a long past life of an innocent canine ancestor trying to say hello to a feline that didn't end all too well for her ancestor. Ever since then all of it's descendants had through no sense of their own held a wary grudge against cats and all felines. Of course Matilda was young and meek, she wasn't aggressive at all and she was perhaps the most harmless person in the entirety of Velen. So though her vowels grumbled all the young maid could do was freeze and if she was any more canine then she would whimper like a tiny puppy. After a long, LONG silence Matilda tried to venture out by saying: "Eeer... H-H-hello?"
