So you're new to the site, you've read all the other threads and still don't get an idea on how to start? That's alright! We have designed this basic guide to help you out and have you join everybody else in the world of Eternal Magica.
After you have your character idea in your mind, what race you want them to be, gender, alignment and all the basics of a character (which you can find in the character template) then you will want to select their class. It is important that you have your mind clear about your character's class, what it does and how does it work for your character. After you're done with your class you may now choose their Role. A character's Role will determine their position in a party for quests as well as their utility for everybody else. Make sure to give yourself time when thinking about its class and role. Although you're not required to be realistic about what class goes with any role, it is recommended that you keep it logical.
You got your character finally approved and you feel like you're ready to go but before you do that you have to keep something important in mind and that is... Your character's safety. There are many ways that you can provide your character safety in this world, you could Rent a room at our Local Inn and have it be completely yours for over a month! (an OOC month), or you could also use your Guild house's room. You might as well choose not to spend your nights at any of these places, however, there's a high chance that someone steals something from you at night without you noticing it so be prepared.
In case you do not wish to take the risk and go for one of the 2 options above then you gotta remember that the Local Inn charges you with 30 Silver coins a month and while the Guild house rooms are "Free" to use for its members, you'll have to first be accepted into one in order to make use of them.
You might have noticed it already with this title right? Well, in this site we shorten most of our quest titles, threads and other miscellaneous with tags. They all mean something and if you ever run into one and don't know what it means AND the person who set it is not around, well, here you might find its meaning!
[*break]: (without the*) This tag is used in our character application. It is used to set spaces between paragraphs because the way our template is coded doesn't allow you to use spaces in it with any other way. To use this tag correctly is pretty simple, you might use it at the start of your paragraph to leave a single separation from a title or at the end of your paragraph to leave a clear space for your next paragraph.
[Open]: This tag is commonly used for missions that are yet to meet the requirement to start. Threads that are not necessarily private and are "open" for anyone who wish to jump in. In some other cases it will also be used for on-going events and other special quests that allows it.
[closed]: This tag is used to mark quests that are full, meaning you cannot longer join them. It will also be used for finished missions that no longer requires members to continue posting on them.
[private]: This tag is usually used for threads that requires you to have an invitation from its creator to join in. If you don't have one and decide to just post in a thread you're not invited be aware that your posts will be deleted.
[invite]: Threads with this tag usually go hand in hand with the [private] tag as "[Private/Invite]". They are essentially used to let other people know that, although it is a private thread with a small group of people, you may still contact the creator for an invitation to participate in.
[In Progress]: This tag will be used for missions that are not yet finished but have already started. In progress quests can only be made by the members who signed up for it and only them have the rights to reply to each other in it.
