Once your character is approved and has settled in the inn they'll need to earn money to survive! As you are all adventures the way to gain riches and the money to survive as well as upgrade your equipment is to go out and complete quests. In this thread we explain how Quests works and the reward system we have set up.
Quests are the bread and butter of Eternal Magica, they are the main source of income and the main pastime for adventures. Quests will be posted in the Quest Billboard and in the available section. Think of quests as contracts and paying assignments. They will detail requirements for completion. There is no post requirement for Quests threads so they can be as short or as long as you want (As long as they aren't super short).
Quests have a recommended party size. However, it isn't a limitation. A quest for 4 people can be taken by more or less people and this ties to the reward system (explained below). So if you take a quest outside of the recommendation we expect you to role play the difficulties or lack of them appropriately.
There are several types of quests with different tags to identify them.
Once you are in a quest, you and the other participants are free to run how the quest plays out and for how long. Just beware that Staff have the power to randomly pop in the thread as a Narration and be a random element to change the pace of a thread. Changes can be simple things such as weather or a locked door to more serious things such as an unexpected encounter or a random monster appearing.
One thing to remember is that retreating is always an option and some quests will be unreasonable or very dangerous. Even then half of the contract rewards is given, as long as some effort is put into the quest!
Here we explain how the most important aspect of questing works. The reward system is simple. Quests have a contract reward for completion and in most cases the reward is in coins. The amount is set and once the quest completed the reward is split between the participants. So for example if a quest reward is 100s and it's completed by a group of 4, then the reward for each party member is 25s. But if the quest is picked up and completed by 2 people then the reward for each will be 50s. In essence the party size dictates how much coin each member gains from completing the quest.
But now you are probably thinking that the system is unfair for large groups! Well no. Our loot system is in place to balance things out so don't worry!
Depending on the monster you face and the location you face him, the chance for an item drop happens. Our loot system takes into consideration the party. The larger the party the higher chance that party will receive extra rewards, such as additional money or items. So while smaller groups may earn more coin from the standard reward, bigger groups get bonus rewards in the form of items or money.
The loot system is also applied to guilds. We think this is a nice balance between those who prefer to run in small groups and those who want to be in larger groups.

- [Party Quest]: These are the most common quests. They have a set reward and depending on the party size there is a chance for additional drops or rewards to be given at the end.
- [Item Quest]: These quests are for adventurers with high tier equipment. Taking these quests is a requisite for upgrading your equipment to the highest tiers!
- [Guild Quest]: As the name implies these quests can only be taken by guild members. They have high rewards but are more difficult and do require more teamwork than usual.
- [Event]: Events aren't exactly quests that will be open for limited amounts of time. They can provide bonuses or special rewards if you participate. They can be related to the story or be to commemorate a special occasion.
- [Epic Quest]: These are the hardest quests. They have more requirements than other quests and are more difficult but they can give S tier loot or equipment.
